We are lucky to have so many fall attractions and events all over this area where families have been making fall memories for years. 

From picking apples to leaf-peeping to Halloween fun ... Macaroni KID Owens Cross Roads- Scottsboro has all the details for you and your family to make the most of autumn in Northern Alabama.

Pick Your Own Apple Farms


Scott's Orchard

2163 Scott Road, Hazel Green, AL 35750 

This year's first Pick Your Own Apples  starts on Monday, September 2nd and goes through October 19th.

Tickets are available now at scottsorchard.com/tickets

Every Wednesday at 9:00 AM this Fall we there will be story time under the tree!

Details: During the fall apple season (September through December,) they offer lots of fall treats in addition to the large selection of apples and fresh cider. They also offer pick-your-own apples during select days in September and October. We recommend making a reservation to take advantage of any available discounts.

Dont forget to try one of the delicious slushies!

Isom's Orchard

Details: 

Isom's Orchard in Athens, is in its fourth generation of growers. Wes Isom, current owner and farmer is proceeded by his grandfather, E.K, who started growing peaches before World War II, and his father, Joe, who established the fruit stand we know now in 1957. 

Isom’s is a family business run by Wes, Marlene and children. Isom's will provide you with a wide variety of only the freshest and tastiest produce grown right on our farm! 

Our season typically runs April (strawberries!) to Thanksgiving (apples!). They operate 7 days a week with an ever-changing inventory.

Crow Mountain OrchardsNot a Pick -Your -Own Farm!

6236 County Road 39 Fackler, AL 35746

Details: Offers a variety of fruits including apples, peaches, blueberries and seedless grapes. You can check their calendar here. Around mid-September, you'll get to experience the orchard's famous apple cider, which is made every couple of days from their very own secret recipe. This delicious cider makes the orchard visit well worth it. Don't forget to grab yourself a gallon or two.

Russell Cave National Monument

Details: Russell Cave National Monument offers a glimpse into the life of early North American inhabitants dating from 10,000 B.C. to 1650 A.D. Russell Cave was named a National Monument in 1961 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966


Madison County Nature Trail

5000 Nature Trail Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803

The Madison County Nature Trail is a beautiful family-friendly spot on top of Green Mountain. The trail surrounds Sky Lake so there are picturesque views from all around. It truly provides the perfect setting for nature lovers of all ages — whatever the season.  It's only a 1.5-mile trail and there are many great spots to stop along the way.  We went with our 6, 4 & almost 2-year-old and the kids did well! ( However, We stopped - A LOT)

Tate's is a very popular farm for fall fun. They have so much going on - its worth the drive and price of admission.  You can really spend hours here.  $20/person (ages 2 and above)

 The annual Fall Festival is filled with attractions, events, rides, and endless things to do. From the largest pumpkin patch in the Tennessee Valley to the fun-filled Corn Maze, there’s always something to do at Lyon Family Farms. 

Fireworks every Friday night in October around 7:30 pm

Since 1996 McGee Farm has opened each fall especially for families to enjoy “. Generations have made memories in the atmosphere of fun and fall that comes with a visit to the farm. Appreciate the outdoors with a tractor-drawn wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to choose that special pumpkin or choose from pumpkins in the barn already brought in from the field. Thousands of chrysanthemums are ready for your choice to decorate for the season along with fall themed gift items reasonably priced for any budget.

No general admission to shop the big barn, mums and Kitchen. 

The Real Pumpkin Patch: $3.25 per person (ages 2 to 102) armband includes our entertainment area activities such as visiting the goats and chickens, play in the hay, the flower field and walk to the Real Pumpkin Patch. PUMPKIN NOT INCLUDED. Pumpkins start at $3 each. Babies one year and younger may come in for free with an adult. 

Jumping Pillow only Armband: $3.25 per person (all ages)

Jump and Patch $6.50 per person (all ages) PUMPKIN NOT INCLUDED

Wagon ride to the Real Pumpkin Patch: $3 per person (ages 2 and up) MAY BE ADDED AS AN OPTION TO YOUR ADMISSION TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH…PUMPKIN NOT INCLUDED. Pumpkins start at $3 each. Babies one year and younger may ride for free with an adult.

Sand Mountain Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch - Opening Day: Saturday, September 21st at 10:00 am

Come visit the farm for fall fun filled family fun!

 They have a 14 acre maze, a FULL patch of pumpkins, and tons of activities for all ages! 


They have cow train rides, wagon rides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, corn blasters, duck races, play barn, and a general store!!! 

They offer many activities to make your fall day fun. Take part in some of these before, after, or instead of a trip through the corn maze! There is something for everyone, and every age! The whole place is a playground with Horse Swings, See-saws, Slides, and a Picnic Area. 

They even have a Zombie Acpocolypse Paintball Activitity after dark for those brave souls!

Fall for ALL - September 28 - Big Spring Park, Huntsville - EVENT CANCELED due to Weather

Huntsville Parks & Recreation invites you to Fall for All, a free event to welcome the fall season on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at Big Spring Park East. 

Enjoy live music by The Bubbanaughts, experience the excitement of riding a mechanical bull or have some fun with pumpkin bowling. The event will also feature a variety of inflatable games, fall-themed crafts and photo ops.
