2024 Spring Sports Guide

Spring sports are just around the corner and it is time to sign up now!

Here are the details from our local community rec centers & little leagues.

Volleyball Info: Ages 6-16. Must be 6 by August 1st, 2023 to be eligible to play. 6 & 7 year olds will play 8U.

Baseball/Softball Info: Ages 3-12. Must be 3 by May 1st, 2024 to be eligible to play. Practice begins the week of February 19th.

* A copy of each player’s birth certificate will be required before first practices.

* Registration fees DO NOT include uniforms.

Spring Sports include Baseball, Softball, Soccer, RecPlus Baseball & RecPlus Softball

Registration opens Saturday, January 20^th and will remain open until February 20^th at which time a waitlist will be opened. If age divisions are full, we may not be able to take waitlisted players, so please go ahead and register!

COACHES: If you plan to coach, thank you!! One difference this season is that we cannot deconflict schedules for coaches, so you’ll need league approval before committing to coach more than one team. Please reach out to your sports director for that approval.

**NOTE** ALL player requests to play up or down will be reviewed and verified at evals by HEL Baseball and Softball Directors. Please register for correct age division and then email sports director with request. *Requests for soccer age division changes will be approved by Soccer Director.

BASEBALL:

Baseball games will be played Monday – Friday with 5U and 6U playing Saturdays
Opening Day March 30th. Regular Season April 1st - May 18th
League provides Jersey, Hat, Socks and Belt. Parents will provide WHITE baseball pants
Players are responsible for batting helmet, glove, bat, cleats, and any additional safety gear such as chest protectors, shields, etc.
Games will be played at Cove Park, GSES and, depending on age division, may travel to other local leagues for games
13 yr olds will be allowed to play in 12U with positional modifications
RecPlus will be offered. You MUST be registered for regular season AND attend regular season evals. Evaluation scores will be used to determine player callbacks. More info will be out closer to eval date!

SOFTBALL:

Games Monday – Friday with tee-ball also playing Saturdays
Opening Day March 30th. Regular Season April 1st - May 18th
League provides Jersey, Socks & Belt. Parents will provide BLACK pants
Defensive face masks are MANDATORY for all players (Ex: Rip-It brand)
Players are responsible for batting helmet, glove, bat, cleats
Games will be played at Cove Park and other City fields. All ages travel
13 yr olds will be allowed to play 12U but cannot pitch
RecPlus will be offered. You MUST be registered for regular season AND attend regular season evals. Evaluation scores will be used to determine player callbacks. More info will be out closer to eval date!

Birth years 2010 - 2020 eligible to play
Soccer games will be played Monday – Saturday
League provides Jersey, Shorts, and Socks
Eastern is only City park offering spring soccer - All games will be played at Cove Park or MRCC
